Dwayne had a few things to say about his relationship with Eddie Guerrero. I thought what he said was very touching. Big thanks to KD_MAD for always coming through and sending in news: ?I always felt a closeness to Eddy,? said Dwayne Johnson. ?Not only because of the love and passion we shared for the business, but because we both came from a long line of wrestlers. I remember my dad introducing me to Eddy?s family in the locker room when my dad worked in Houston for Paul Boesch. I remember when I came and worked Wrestlemania XX with Mick Foley a few years ago. When I got to the Garden, the first thing I did was find Eddy and Benoit to show them love and congratulations for being champions. I told Eddie I was so proud of him and that he had earned the right to call himself a world champion, and was proud to have him and Benoit representing me in the business as (more…)

Here’s an interesting read comparing Rock, Chris Rock and Diesel from boxofficeprophets.com:
David Mumpower: I think we should upgrade from Chris Rock to THE Rock. I mean, nobody else we’re talking about has as much experiencing doing live television than him, right?
Reagen Sulewski: Only if we’re guaranteed a Jack Nicholson powerslam.
David Mumpower: All four losers in each category get Rock Bottomed!
Joel Corcoran: If we’re going to The Rock, then why not launch all the way up to Vin Diesel?
Kim Hollis: I would suggest that Vin is a downgrade from The Rock. Though we’ll have to wait for The Rock’s daddy changing diapers movie to know for sure.

Here is an interesting read comparing The Rock and Vin Diesel’s acting career’s as of late. The article is from Guardian Unlimited Film:
Speaking of rocks getting schooled, things are not working out terribly well for Dwayne Johnson, the world’s most famous wrestler turned actor. When dwindling box office returns indicated that Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris were getting too old or paunchy to be credible as last action heroes, the path seemed clear for either Vin Diesel or The Rock to scoop up their fallen laurels. Alas, that vacancy has not yet been filled. After a series of shockingly inept gore-fests, fatally (more…)

Here is an interesting read it was an interview done by IC Wales in it he talks about the success of Doom, Vin Diesel, Simone and some of his other movie projects:
THERE’S no messing with The Rock, Hollywood’s latest (and most ludicrously- named) action movie star with the Midas touch at the box office.
The former WWF wrestler-turned-film actor, who leapt to fame in The Mummy Returns, recently hit the No 1 spot in American multiplexes once more with Doom, a gritty, shoot-em-up big screen version of the computer video game, opening in the UK this week. And thankfully he has no pretensions about its meaning in the world of celluloid art (more…)

Exclusive: He talks new project
We spoke to our good friend, the Krispy Kreme-loving The Rock recently, about his new film Doom ? out next week, fact fans. But while there, we took the chance to grill him about some of his upcoming projects, like Richard Kelly?s Southland Tales, or his much-mooted (other) videogame flick, Spy-Hunter.
Yet, The Rock surprised us by talking about a movie that wasn?t on his current to-do list of approximately 843 movies. (more…)

?It was strange when we did our first scene together. It was a lot of fun. Peter Berg and I were saying it?s such a wild business to do another movie together with another actor. For the Rock?s character, in The Rundown my character was a chatty Kathy and was in his ear yapping the whole time. My character is a much more quiet in this movie and he?s the guy who is kind of crazy and mightier. So it?s pretty fun. He doesn?t kick my ass in this movie which was nice. I took a beating in that one.?

The
back to school issue of After school all stars came out today. The newsletter
contained some important back to school tips and motivations and awareness for
keeping kids in school and involved.
“With
summer soon coming to an end and kids heading back to school, we all have a part
to play in helping children succeed in school and life. Even when it doesn’t
seem like it, the kids in our lives are looking to us for encouragement, safety
and inspiration. We are their examples, and we have the power to choose the kind
of example we will set. …”

CS!: You’re going to be starring in “Southland Tales”, the new movie from Richard (Donnie Darko) Kelly. Can you tell us a little about that?
Scott: It’s really hard to describe. The script is kinda similar to “Strangelove” or “Clockwork Orange.” It’s got a very Kubrick vibe to it, and I think he’s the kind of guy that could really pull off something really interesting. I play a guy who–he’s not really a racist cop but he’s an edgy cop–and I play his twin brother, so in the movie I play two guys. And the Rock plays this kind of action star who’s really (more…)

Thanks to KD_MAD for sending this in
When Rock was at the Espys(he and Serena Williams presented the best male athlete of the year to Lance Armstrong), he was backstage with tons of press from all the networks and major international press. After being asked movie questions and the like, what was described as ?an obscure out of place reporter? (more…)

Interview w/Richard Kelly credit: about.com
Some of the things I’ve been reading about ?Southland Tales? recently are comments from people worried about the ‘teen’-type stars you’ve cast ? Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seann William Scott? They worry about the whole ?American Pie? thing and how that fits in with something created by the ?Donnie Darko? writer/director. (more…)
